Hello everyone! I thought this would be really a good thing to share with you all that when there is a lot going on in life, which of course we all experience, it is really important to take out some time to de-stress, recharge and regain yourself. Having a ‘me’ time is necessary in some point of time where we can do, see and enjoy whatever makes us happy. So here are some simple ways to de-stress. In this digital world, where we are constantly attached to our electronic devices, it’s time to switch off and have a conscious time for ourselves.
So let’s do this together!!! 🙂
Light Some Candles & Stay Calm!
I know this would not be everyone’s favourite but I find this really helpful at times when I am stressed. I am a big fan of candles. I just need an excuse to light candles at home. The fragrance quite often sets the mood at home and I always feel happy when surrounded by the aroma wafting in the air around me. Try the scents which are closer to nature which calm your senses. But if you are like me and just mad about candles then go ahead and try experimenting with different fragrances and I am sure you will find the ones that work best for you.
Make Your Bathroom Your Own Spa At Home!
When it comes to a Spa, I am too lazy to book an appointment and go for a spa treatment (they are not very cheap either ;)). So that part is often taken care of by my better half when he wants to pamper me but when you need some time to de-stress and need a relaxing break the best way to do so is to create a spa ambience in your own bathroom where you can spend some quality time with your favourite products. Light some aromatic candles (you know how much I love candles), run a bubble bath and put on some light music. Close your eyes and let your mind wander. It never fails to bring a calming sensation to my mind and body.
Make Yourself A Cup Of Calming Tea to Recharge Your Energy!
There is no doubt about the fact that I am a true coffee lover but when it comes to de-stressing my mind what works best is a cup of mildly fragranced tea. My personal favourites are jasmine and camomile tea but you can choose anything else that works for you. I was never into tea drinking but my husband prefers tea over coffee. Often on Sunday evenings we both like to sit down and catchup on favourite memories over Darjeeling Tea or Green Tea. So whenever I feel like taking a short break from work to relax, I just make myself a cup of tea.
Go For A Walk!
It is always said, whenever you are stressed or feeling low you should go out for a walk to get some fresh air and clear your mind. I personally do that quite often and it really helps me a lot. I prefer going out for a walk along a water body, as I love the sound of wind and water around me. Of course it helps that I live next to one in Singapore. But when I was in London I used to take a walk in the beautiful parks, often stopping to sit down on a bench and read a book or listen to music.
Swim & Forget
I love swimming and a few rounds of swimming at the end of the day often helps me take my mind off everything else. It really works. I don’t know if there any scientific reason behind this but swimming really helps de- stressing mind. Try it!
I hope these small tips really help. Stress is not a healthy state of mind neither do we enjoy, so whenever you feel you are under too much stress, take out some minutes from your busy life and have some nice time to de-stress your mind and feel happy. Because…
Happy mind! Happy life!
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Stay healthy, Stay fashionable. 🙂
