WHAT I WORE IN PORTUGAL

What is wear in Lisbon

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed my previous travel posts on Greece. I have just returned from a holiday in Lisbon, Portugal, a city rich in art, culture and history. From the tiled beautification to the iconic trams winding up the hilly roads to some great panoramic views all around the city, Lisbon has it all. You read more about the city in my Lisbon travel guide. This post is all about what I wore in Portugal.

You should always be comfortable in your clothes when you are on a holiday especially when it is a city tour and involves a lot of walking around. Having said that, we can always zhoosh up with some lovely accessories which complement the entire look. Here are some of my picks for a city travel.

How to plan outfits for a short holiday

Since it was autumn, normally we tend to pack too many things. I had to select my outfits wisely in order to make the maximum use of space in my luggage. As we were going to be away for less than a week, we had decided to carry only one check-in luggage between ourselves ( I say ourselves but it ends up being mostly my things). Although the temperature was high teens during the day, it was getting slightly chilly in the evening, so a light jacket or cardigan is always handy.

Outfit 1:

These pair of black pants and striped off shoulder top are simple & comfortable yet stylish as I have completed the look with a beret and added a pop of red with this chiffon scarf. If you know me then you will probably know how much I love to wear stripes so one of my travel outfits had to be something in stripes 🙂

Outfit 2:

Next on my list of what I wore was an outfit that was decided according to the plan for the day as we went to a beautiful town called Sintra. Mostly we had to explore the place by walking on hilly roads so a casual boyfriend jeans with a classic white top and a biker jacket worked best for the day. We all know jeans is very comfortable where ever you go but this time I tried the boyfriend jeans which I normally don’t wear as my preference is for straight cut jeans.

Outfit 3:

By now all of you must be thinking ‘has she only packed pants’? Of course not! I have worn this beautiful navy pencil cut skirt with boots giving it a sharp look with a bold coloured lipstick. I started out by wearing a grey top with this skirt, as grey looks gorgeous with navy but due to the grim weather forecast and slight chill in the air, I pulled on a black cardigan which went quite well with the entire outfit.

Boots- New Look (similar but different colour)

And the showstopper: The Backpack from asos

The black gold chained studded backpack from Asos is my favourite item . Just to save space for the shopping I was going to do :P, this time I decided to carry a single bag which will go with all my outfits. This backpack is gorgeous and serves the purpose really well. It’s spacious, just the right size for walking around, comfortable and more importantly very stylish (not like the boring backpacks) :). I absolutely loved carrying this around on my entire trip. Generally backpacks and cross bodies are the best options when you travel.
